Tentative Schedule
 

9:30 -- Orientation, training and instructions to judges and new debaters in Health Science 104. Center of campus. Look for yellow signs.
11:00 – 12:30 Round One with critique
12:30 – 1:00 Lunch provided by Talkback Debating Society
1:00 – 2:30 Round Two with critique

2:30 Awards

UBC, PSU, Mt Hood and Seattle U are committed. Topics directly from the Economist magazine. Highly experienced coaches and judges. Debates to will be video taped for your use in training.

 

9:30 AM training led by UBC debaters:

Stephen McCarthy is a third year undergraduate in Computer Science and Math at the University of British Columbia. Debate achievements: semi-finalist, CUSID West Championships. He serves as President of the UBC Debating Society.

Emma Ellison is a third year undergraduate in Geography  and Women's Studies. Her Debate achievements include placing 28th at the Oxford Intervarsity tournament. She served as 2006-07 Vice President for the UBC Debating Society.
