About Our Introduction to
Worlds Debate Speaker
Former
Director of Speech and Debate
at the University of LaVerne (CA), Jason Sandford coached one of the
most successful international debate programs in the nation. Under
Jason’s leadership, LaVerne won multiple regional championship titles as
well as achieving success at many international competitions in Europe.
These same LaVerne teams went on to be some of the first Americans to
reach both Semi-Final and Final rounds at the World University Debating
Championships.
As a debater, Jason has made it to the Finals of multiple American
Worlds-style tournaments and won several top-ten speaker awards. In
European competition, he has made it to the Semi-Finals of the
Strathclyde Tournament in Scotland, outperforming past Finalists of
the World Universities Debating Championships. As a Public Speaker,
Jason has also made it to the Semi-Finals of The World Universities
Debate Championships Public Speaking Competition (Oxford '93) and
won the prestigious Harvard University Public Speaking Championships
(1995).
Jason has been active as a judge for Northwest University for many
years.
