You are
not a communication major until you apply
Students
must have a 2.0 or better grade point average in their college coursework to be admitted. Transfer students must also show a 2.0 or better
grade point average.
Students
must complete the first course of the major, COMM 2003 Introduction to
Human Communication before your application will be approved.
Student achievement in this course will be a strong factor in considering admission to
the major. However, students may turn it in and get tentative approval
and in fact must let your advisor know what concentration you are
committed to in order for us to plan courses.
The
student will complete the Communication Major Admittance requirements. The students specific concentration in the major will be determined in consultation with the students faculty advisor. Admission to the major and concentration require the approval of both the faculty advisor and the department chair. Selection of concentration must be declared by the end of the second year of degree work.
To graduate students must achieve a 2.0 in all communication courses as part of their program.
Rationale: We want to attract serious students who have self understanding and academic skills to be a part of our community.
1. Turn in an
unofficial transcript from either high school or last college attended.
You may request an unofficial transcript from the NU registrars office.
You may copy and paste it from I Q Web and send it as an email if you
like. We need evidence that you have a 2.0 or better GPA.
NOTE: Students should check the official university catalogue for the most up to date description of the program.
