Gideon Copple
Gideon is a 2006 graduate who majored in Organizational Communication. He was chosen to be the student commencement speaker. See his speech here. He grew up in Hanoi, Vietnam. He speaks Vietnamese and French and has attended debate tournaments in Hawaii , Spain and Prague, Czech Republic. Gideon is planning a career as a US diplomat after attending law school. He is now a Junior Staffer for the Council on Foreign Relations in New York City. He is a former intern with a United Nations related organization.

Patrick Hillis
Patrick graduated with his organizational communication degree in May 2005. At NU he was a star of the Eagle basketball team. He now works with a ministry that helps African immigrants in Europe. Many communication majors go into ministry related or humanitarian service careers. More about Patrick

Brittany Johnsen
Brittany is a 2005 graduate. During her internship with the financial software company Intuit, she was named Best Northwest Regional Sales Representative. Only four employees in the entire nation were so honored. She is now a managing regional sales representive. More about Brittany. Grant Enloe
Grant was elected Captain of the NU Basket Ball Team for two years in a row. He graduated in organizational communication May 2006 and is listed in Who's Who of American University Students. More about Grant

Sara Boyd
A 2005 graduate, Sara transferred from Whitman College, giving up a full ride merit scholarship, to become a communication major at Northwest University. She was elected the Eagle Debate Team Captain her senior when she won top awards at four tournaments and led the team to reach finals at the national tournament. She was selected to be the Senior Speaker for the College of Arts and Sciences and runner up for Commencement student speaker. In addition to debate, she contributed to the student newspaper. She is now a children's pastor in Walla Walla, WA.

Mercy Novak
Since graduating in 2003, Mercy has worked in fundraising and public relations. She now serves as Web Editor for Aglow International. More about Mercy. She is applying for graduate studies at the Annenberg School of Communication. See here letter of recommendation.

Sky Holzinger
A passion for film led Sky to apply to the Los Angeles Film Studies program. He was one of forty in the nation chosen for the Hollywood internship the Spring of 2005. While at Northwest he worked as a media intern for the City of Redmond. Sky's Media Internship

Rory Eldridge
Rory graduated Suma Cum Laud in Organizational Communication in May 2006. He was honored with a plaque for earning the highest GPA of all Communication majors.  A champion athlete and swimming coach who has won awards on the Eagle Debate team, Rory served as President of the Organizational Communication Major his senior year. 
Rory served as Director of Public Relations for two men's ministries in Colorado last year.  More about Rory

 Danny is Community Outreach Director for Fountain Court Senior Living in Maple Valley, Washington. Jessica is a Project Coordinator for World Vision International in Federal Way.

Jonette Bryant

Jonette used her communication degree to fulfill her calling to ministry. As an accomplished vocalist and worship leader, she turned her passion for music into a career. She is now employed as a worship leader for her church.

Desiree Knemeyer
Seeking a career in crisis preparedness, Desiree was hired as an intern for the City of Redmond in disaster readiness. She was the first intern accepted without a college degree and developed practical skills as part of a disaster preparedness program considered a model for the county. Active with our debate team for three years, she won many awards and served as assistant coach and the first president of Talkback. Her senior year she worked with the University's advancement office as a photographer.
Desiree and husband Steven Knemeyer ('06) run the Wenatchee Teen Outreach Center, Solomon's Porch, as home missionaries.

Jennifer King
Upon graduation with her Northwest College Communication degree, Jennifer was hired by KING Television in Seattle as a media prompter, the entry position for news anchor. In her senior year she was accepted into the Los Angeles Film Studies program.

Heather Cook
Heather works as Costume Manager for Taproot Theater Company in Seattle. This is a full time, salaried position. She interned with the Christian play house before graduation. Active in drama productions during her college experience, she found a way to turn her love for drama into a career.

Christina Reasner Gard
Christina Reasner Gard was one of 25 top American college students, the only one from a non-Ivy League school, accepted into the Oxford University Honors Program in England -- which is similar to the Rhodes Scholar program but for undergraduate students. Reasner graduated with honors and on May 2004 presented the student commencement address. In September of 2005 she competed as a finalist for the Miss America Scholarship program. She is now pursing a doctorate in clinical psychology.

Matt Cuellar, graduated 2002, is now an Accounts Executive. He says that his communication degree and debate experience helps him in his successful sales career.

 

Shauna Marshall was captain of NU Women's Soccer Team and a member of the debate team. She also lead a small group Bible study for women soccer players. She hopes to pursue a masters Degree in Communication.
