Tutorial Services

All CAPS Students: Smart Thinking is an online tutorial service we recommend. Check it out! As a student you have free 24-hour access to Smarthinking, an online tutoring service helping students succeed in their classes, whether they be online or in person.Supported topics include (but not limited to): Mathematics, Writing, Business, Sciences, Information Technology, Psychology, Sociology. Login with your NU Online login information to access the Smarthinking writing center. You can work directly with a tutor or submit a question as well as access helpful study aids.Click here to access: Smarthinking.

Adult Evening: The NU Writing Center for adult evening students is located in the Hurst library; hours are Monday through Thursdays from 2:30 to 6:30 pm. For an on-campus appointment, you may sign up for a Writing Center session with Robin Severson by simply clicking on CAPS Writing Tutor. Please call the Academic Success Office at 425-889-5227 if you are going to be late or if you cannot make your appointment. Online writing support will remain tutoring in nature, not operate as an editing or proof reading service. Reading or editing simply for commas or other grammatical elements is not within the parameters of tutoring.

Parking Permits

Vehicle registration must be done annually for each vehicle parked on campus: click on My Parking. Once students have purchased their vehicle registration form, parking permits will be mailed to you by the CAPS office.

Student Printing Needs

If you need to print your documents while on campus, you may do so. Printing balance purchases are non-refundable.

  • Cash: Minimum purchase $5.00 (125 pgs) Visit the Library Circulation Desk or the Cashier”s Office (Davis Building).
  • Credit Card: Minimum purchase $10.00 (250 pgs) Visit the Cashier’s Office (Davis Building) before 5pm weekdays.
  • Student Account: Click here and Log-in to purchase pages online using your student account.

Graduation

You should apply for graduation a year before your anticipated graduation date. Graduation applications are available through the Registrar’s Office  /Forms and Resources/Application for Graduation. Once the Application for Graduation has been submitted, a graduation audit will be conducted to inform you of the classes you have left to take in order to graduate.  All course work and graduation requirements must be completed by the summer graduation date in August in order to walk at Commencement in May.
