Alumni Info & Teaching Opportunities

Alumni Information

Please stay in touch after graduation! We would love to hear where you land and what you’re up to. We also ask alumni to fill out one and three year alumni surveys, helping us to reflect on the effectiveness of our preparation program once our candidates begin their teaching careers. These surveys will be sent to you via email through our online portfolio system, Foliotek. Please continue to provide up-to-date contact information so that we can get crucial program feedback from you over the next few years; we also would like to be able to communicate with you about future opportunities, such as the chance to take on a student teacher after three years in the field, or the possibility of coming in as an alumnus to share with current candidates about your experience landing a job and working in the profession. To request copies of Letters of Reference, or to relay updated contact information, please contact Zach Smith.

Below, you can find a list of available teaching openings throughout Washington State – these are schools that have contacted the College of Education directly, with an interest in NU-COE Alumni. You will also find opportunities through international and volunteer organizations as they are made available. We will do our best to keep this list updated and accurate so that it will remain a valuable resource for you during your teaching endeavor.

Additional Teaching Resources

AVID Coach – Northwest University

Want to be a teacher? Like working with students? Have a heart for service?

Each year, the School of Education at Northwest partners with the Bellevue School District to provide academic coaches for the district’s AVID program. Northwest students work together with classroom teachers to help small groups of middle and high school students gain the academic skills and resources not only to get in to college, but to thrive once they’re there.

If you can see yourself working closely with small groups of students, if you love to learn about how to learn, and if you can commit to two hours per week this coming fall, being an AVID coach may be perfect for you. Contact Dr. Jeremy Delamarter for more information by emailing
