Volunteer Opportunites

Workstudy

We have developed workstudy positions at a couple of local schools for our education students.  These are part-time jobs for students and can actually serve as part of your financial aid package.  Specifically we have set up partnerships at Lakeview Elementary (just down the hill) and Muir Elementary.  Both are in the Lake Washington School District.  Lakeview can take up to three NU candidates and Muir will add another two.  We are prioritizing candidates who are in high need endorsement areas (middle level math, middle level science, secondary math, secondary biology, secondary physics, and English language learners), but any of our COE candidates may apply.  These are great opportunities to work as your part-time job during the school year, and will give you great experience with kids in great local schools.

If you are interested, please let us know or contact the schools directly.  Simply tell them that you are NU College of Ed candidates and would like to apply for one of their workstudy positions for Fall 2016.  If you’d like more information on work study itself, please contact Ryan Kropf.  Ryan is our NU workstudy coordinator.
