Fall 2011

Dr. John C. Bangs

John C. Bangs, D.Min., Associate Professor of Ministry Leadership.  Dr. Bangs has been at Northwest University since 2007 as a full-time professor, but before that, he taught as an adjunct here.  Dr. Bangs teaches Bible, Theology, and Ministry courses mainly in the LEAP program.

John is married to Treesa and they have 8 children.  Their oldest daughter just got married this summer.  Congratulations to Leah and John. They also have Taban, Britton, Natalie, Kape, Latio, Jane and Meri.  Five of the 8 joined the Bangs family three years ago from the Sudan as refugees

John’s favorite ice cream is Tillamook Vanilla Bean with Spanish peanuts and chocolate sauce. Yum!

John’s favorite vacation spot would have to be Rome.

John’s favorite cartoon as a child was Calvin and Hobbs.

His hobbies include sailing, skiing, and music.  John likes bass guitar, guitar, piano and music production.  John received his Master of Divinity from Fuller Seminary and his Doctorate from George Fox.  He is an ordained Foursquare minister.  John’s wife, Treesa, is the Family and Children’s Pastor at Redmond Assembly.

John’s favorite thing about the University is that it allows the opportunity to work with adult learners as they emerge into fruitful ministry roles here in the Pacific Northwest.
