Admission to Major
Recommended that in the student’s junior year: Have completed SCIE 2203, SCIE 2213 or EXSC 2083 and EXSC 2983 with a grade of “C” or better. (Students may apply while currently enrolled in these courses; grades will be reviewed at the end of the semester, with final acceptance contingent upon their successful completion.) Additional requirements:
- It is recommended that student be in good academic standing with the University and have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Have a current Undergraduate Student Membership to the American College of Sports Medicine, or National Strength and Conditioning Association (either copy of membership card or copy of email receipt from the ACSM or NSCA). - Have a current CPR and First Aid certification (copy of cards) including adult, child and infant, AED; have a “hands-on” component; must be from one of the following organizations (American Red Cross or American Heart Association, or National Safety Council).
