LEAP Graduates at Breakfast
Some of our LEAP grads attended the NU new alumni breakfast held before Commencement rehearsal on Friday, May 4. We had 59 LEAP graduates walk at Commencement on Saturday, May 5…biggest graduating class ever!
Office Location
We are located on the second floor of the Barton building. These are a few ways to find the Barton building:
- Check out the campus map at http://www.northwestu.edu/tours/images/campus_map.pdf (look for building #17).
- Locate the chapel, park, and walk up the hill to a grey building. If you find the soccer fields, that’s a good sign you’re getting close.
- Instead of entering campus through the main entrance, drive up the hill on NE 53rd St, and enter campus towards the top of the hill on your left (NE 111th LN). If you pass that entrance, taking the next left will allow you to enter the Barton building from the main entrance.
There is parking available by the Barton building, or next to the chapel. If you take the elevator up from the main floor (by the entrance closest to the soccer fields), go right, walk straight down the hallway, and you can’t miss us (office numbers 226, 228, 232 and 238).

Writing Center
The Writing Center is located in Williams Hall, right next to the Academic Success office (W-10) and is open Monday through Friday afternoons. The mission of the Writing Center is first to help students become better writers and second, to help writers become more self-sufficient and confident by providing them with attention, tools, and time to facilitate the writing process.
• Students can sign up for a Writing Center session with Traci Grant by simply clicking on the “more information” link below and following the instructions.
• Each session is 30 minutes long.
• Students can drop in for a session, but scheduled writers get priority.
• If a student is more than 5 minutes late, he/she may forfeit your session to a writer who drops in for assistance. However, if the student knows that he/she will be a few minutes late, he/she can call the Academic Success Office at (425)889-5227 and they will communicate with the tutor to hold the spot.
• Students must remove their name from the schedule if they cannot attend their session.
