Primarily, I am available to answer student questions, if I don’t have the answer, I do my best to send them to someone who will. I also work with students to develop study and test taking skills, provide advising for course schedules and major decisions, coordinate accommodation plans for students with disabilities, and oversee the Testing Center. I have been working in ASA since March 21, 2011.

Why did you choose a Psychology major and then a master’s in Counseling Psychology and School Counseling?

I was enrolled in Psych 101 my first quarter of my freshman year, and I was hooked. I kept taking psychology courses because I found them interesting. Originally, I went to graduate school to pursue a career in High School Counseling. Adding the Counseling Psychology degree made sense at the time because it only added one year to my overall curriculum and open more doors for me within the field of psychology. The thing that still interests me most about both of these fields is seeing individuals discover what they are good at and helping them to make a plan for the future with these strengths in mind.

About working at NU: I love that I get to wear a lot of hats! It keeps me on my toes that my job changes every day. I also like putting together schedules because it is like solving a puzzle. What I like about NU is that the hospitality I have felt from both staff and students has been amazing! I truly enjoy coming to work every day.

Favorite fun thing to do: Travel, spend time with friends and family. My most favorite is to laugh with my husband.

Favorite place to eat in Seattle: CHIPOTLE!! I always get the steak tacos with guacamole! And a side of cilantro lime rice and chips and salsa! Yum!!

Favorite foods: Mexican and Italian
