Are Life Groups required?

Life groups are not assigned and participation is not required. The purpose of Life groups is to provide an atmosphere of cooperation, accountability, fellowship, and spiritual discipline; all of which are built upon a willing spirit. Therefore, we ask that Life groups members join voluntarily based on their desire to become more like Christ and become more connected to the Northwest community. However, there are three chapels each semester dedicated to Life Groups meetings. Not attending a small group may jeopardize your chapel attendance.

How do I join a Life Group?

Life Groups are formed at the beginning of the semester. There is an online Life Group directory. Life Groups are for you – don’t feel afraid to plug yourself into one.

When do Life Groups meet?

Life Group meeting times are set up and established by the specific leaders for that group. Life Groups are encouraged to meet at least twice a month for fellowship and outreach. Information about when and where Life Groups meet can be found under the Life Group Directory.

Look for “Life Group Day” on the Chapel Schedule.

Can I lead a Life Group?

Maybe. This authority is given to students who are already exhibiting leadership qualities. Contact the Campus Ministries Office for information about becoming a small group leader.

We already have a small group, but it isn’t an official “Life Group.”

Can we make our small group official?

Absolutely! We want small groups to be natural and effective. Choose a leader and have them contact the Campus Ministries Office to become official.
