Purpose
- To know God,
- To have fellowship within the body, and
- To reach the world.
“Chapel exists to express meaningful corporate worship, nurture personal growth, foster community spirit, and respond to the Great Commission, for the glory of God.”
Know God
“That this college community would come to know God in a very specific way. Through worship, the Word and the development of spiritual habits.”
Chapel meets three times a week, 42 times a semester. During Chapel students participate in powerfully meaningful worship through prayer, music and spoken word. The Campus Ministries Staff coordinate worship leaders and speakers who will bring students into a place of relationship with God and will challenge them to know Him better.
Campus Ministries provides prayer & praise cards in Chapel and online that allow the University community to submit those reports to be prayed for by the Campus Ministries Staff and others who use the website to pray for each others needs.
Fellowship
“That this college community would come to know each other. That we would encourage, believe in, and intercede on behalf of the needs that we have.”
At Northwest students are encouraged to participate in Godly fellowship through prayer and praise in chapel and Pursuit. Campus Ministries also provides opportunities for students to be involved in accountability and mentorship groups as well as intercessory prayer.
Students participate in Chapel Small Groups to receive chapel credit. Small groups are lead by fellow students and are centered around fellowship, outreach, bible study and a specific interest of the small group leader.
Reach
“That this college community would come to know their calling to see the lost reached outside of the walls of this campus.”
At Northwest University, to “Carry the Call” means engaging the hand in acts of service and ministry to the Church and the world. Our Ministry Team program involves our students in practical ministry in community, district and church settings throughout the year.
Students also organize and lead diverse ministries in the surrounding community. There are Student Outreach Teams ministering on the streets of Seattle, in juvenile prisons, in local high schools, and student to student.
