2011-2012 Parking Permits are HERE!

Posted on by nicole.kelly@northwestu.edu

Parking permits for the 2011-2012 school year are now available for purchase at the Bookstore. Permits are required on all motorized vehicles (cars, trucks, motorcycles, and scooters). Permits are only available for the year and not in any other increment, i.e. month, or semester. As in previous years the permits are color-coded:

Red – Residence Halls

Yellow – FIRs

Green – Student Apartments

Blue – Commuter.

Cars and Trucks:  Vehicle permits should be attached to the inside of the rear window top passenger side. If the car is a convertible you may place the permit on the windshield. The price remains the same $70.00 for an annual permit.

Motorcycles and Scooters:  This year permits are available for motorcycles and scooters. These permits are $70.00 for the academic year and should be attached to the right side front fork.

Bicycles:  Bicycles will be registered and will receive a permit. The permit should be attached to the main frame in a conspicuous location. There is no charge for bicycles. Bicycles cannot be registered online yet. The Bookstore will have registration paper to fill out.

How do I get the permit?

Using your computer or the kiosk outside the Bookstore, go online to https://eagle.northwestu.edu/apps/parking/. Fill in the requested information. Print off the receipt and take it to the Bookstore. Give the cashier the receipt and $70.00. You will receive the permit for your vehicle. Be sure to mention if the vehicle is a motorcycle or scooter as you will need a different permit.

What happens if I don’t get a permit?

You may receive a citation for not displaying a valid permit. This citation is currently $50.00. It is possible to receive more than one citation and accrue a large fine. If you receive a citation please do not ignore it. Get your permit and discuss your citation with the Security Director. Fines are automatically assessed against your student account.
