Don Doty
Experience
Dr. Doty has been teaching at Northwest University since 1998. He holds an M.B.A. (cum laude) from the Orlafea School of Business, Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska (summa cum laude). Recent research projects include fundraising in research universities, discipleship/mentoring, factors affecting growth in nonprofits, and leadership factors in nonprofits. Dr. Doty has 3 decades of management experience in public, private and social entrepreneurship organizations including: Public- Newhall Land and Farming ($1 billion real estate holding, development and agricultural company). Private- Dinwiddie Construction Company ($350 million, Builders of the Transamerica Pyramid and Bank of America towers in San Francisco). Nonprofit- Strategic Planning Officer for Mercy Ships (international mercy and relief organization). Dr. Doty also works to start up enterpreneurial ventures.
