Children’s Ministry
Administrative Assistant
Job Description Summary:
The Children’s Ministry Administrative Assistant provides administrative support and “anticipatory thinking” for the Children’s Ministry Director and Department. This position reports to the Director of Children’s Ministry. This is a part-time (20-25hr/week), hourly, support level position without benefits. This position may change based on season and assistance needed.
Specific Responsibilities:
• General Office Duties:

o Provide general administrative help including but not limited to: scheduling appointments and meetings, filling out forms, making copies, running errands, returning phone calls, emails and writing letters and other correspondence as requested.
o Maintain Children’s Ministry office supplies and organization.
o Edit assigned ministry social media pages and calendars.
o Ministry Liaison Assistance – assist Director with correspondence and scheduling of assigned ministries.

• Department Needs:
o Maintain database information for our families and children.
o Maintain classrooms – supplies and organization.
o Maintain Children’s Ministry Resource Room – supplies and organization.
o Maintain Sunday School curriculum and assist with sorting and organization as needed.
o AWANA – assist with program supplies, orders and needs.
o Special Events – Help with such events as backyard VBS, AWANA Grand Prix, AWANA Awards, Teacher Appreciation Dinner, Harvest Fest and the like.
o Process new volunteer applications and background checks.
o Oversee registration for all Children’s Ministry departments, including SFC, AWANA, Nursery, and Sunday School classes.

Requirements:
Hours of Availability:

o Available to work 20-25 hours per week, including one full day a week which include staff meeting and CE department meeting.
o Able to work Sunday mornings for one service, and be available for filling in when teachers or the director are out.
o Able to work
o All other hours to be negotiated.


• Additional Responsibilities:

o Attend all required staff meetings, and All Church Events.
o Assume responsibilities within Children’s Ministries as they become appropriate.
o Maintain set schedule (as much as possible).

• Qualifications:
o A Christ honoring life marked by personal holiness, prayer, bible study, spiritual and emotional maturity and increasing dependence on the Holy Spirit (Titus 1:6-9, 1 Timothy 3:1-7).
o A person with a concern for the lost and a passion for reaching children for Jesus.
o A man/woman with a spirit of submission, eagerness, flexibility, a teachable spirit and a sense of humor!

Competency:
o A personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ
o Able to take direction from leadership.
o Solid computer skills with MS Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
o Able to learn and effectively use the church database system.
o Willingness to work within a flexible schedule.
o Effectively communicates with and relates to people of all ages.
o Takes personal initiative in learning.

o In agreement with Antioch Bible Church’s Calling, Convictions and Statement of Faith.
o Passionate about seeing others succeed.
o Strives for excellence in all work duties.
