Welcome to Northwest University!

We are so excited that you have decided to become an Eagle.

You are about to embark on what may be the most powerful, interesting, challenging and entertaining time of your life—your undergraduate university experience. Be assured that in your time here you will have daily opportunities to live out the mission of Northwest: to deepen your spiritual walk, pursue intellectual interests, explore vocational and service opportunities, attempt new challenges, and develop life-long friendships.

In preparation for your arrival, we have been working for months to ensure Orientation will include the critical information and experiences you will need to enjoy a successful transition into the community. Mark your calendar now for Wednesday, August 25, 2010! Nearly 70 student Orientation Leaders, faculty, staff, and even the President are waiting to unload your belongings and welcome you to NU. We encourage you to read the following materials carefully, as they contain information to help you plan, prepare for, and ensure a successful transition.

On your first evening here, you will be assigned to an Orientation Group — led by Orientation Leaders who love Northwest and are eager to share their passion and insight with you. They will answer your questions, introduce you to college life, and help you connect on campus and beyond. With your Orientation Group you will also attend to practical needs such as discovering academic resources, exploring the layout of campus, or picking up your parking permit.

In the meantime, please select a SOAR (Summer Orientation Advising and Registration) Day and register soon. While you are on campus, don’t forget to pick up the Reader for the Common Reading. And enjoy your summer!

By the way… we know beginning your college transition is a big event for the whole family! Feel free to bring your parents to explore the campus and help you get settled.

We are excited you have chosen to join our community, and look forward to your contribution to our future — we are confident God has great things in store for you.

On behalf of all of us here at NU, welcome!
