Residence Life Res Life @ NU
It's about crafting a life that integrates the tough intellectual questions with real life issues and challenges...
There is no better way to tackle life's issues big and small than as part of thoughtful, caring community. Most universities have their share of interesting places to live and opportunities for involvement in campus activities, from the arts to clubs and athletics, but the Residence Life staff at NU is committed to helping you find your place in an intentional, personalized community where we all strive to be more like Christ. Not only that, but you get to live in one of the most naturally beautiful places in the country the Pacific Northwest!
Residence Life Mission Statement
As student development educators, we seek to shape a living-learning community that encourages educational excellence along with personal and spiritual growth. We are passionate about serving college students, intentional in our efforts, and dedicated to honoring God in our work.
We are committed to the following:
COMMUNITY:
Providing a Christ-centered residential community that connects faith and action
Collaborating with other departments to provide a safe and welcoming residential environment conducive to living and learning
Fostering an environment where students move beyond self by challenging, encouraging, and serving one another
DEVELOPMENT:
Equipping and empowering student leaders to serve in present and future communities
Offering co-curricular programming to provide opportunities for holistic student development
Facilitating a consistent, just, and restorative disciplinary process for the individual and the community
Our hope is that once students leave our NU campus, they would apply what they have learned here and contribute to their future communities by serving others, being intentional in their efforts and dedicated to honoring God in their work.
