First published in 1947, Anne Frank’s The Diary of a Young Girl was an astounding literary success. Anne’s personal account of her family’s hidden life during WWII both educated and touched millions of people around the world. In 1955, the stage play based on the diary, written by the playwright team of Goodrich and Hackett, debuted on Broadway. It garnered several awards including a Tony and a New York Drama Critics Circle for Best Play.
