US Flag at Half Staff

Governor Jay Inslee has asked that Washington State and United States flags be lowered to half-staff on Saturday, May 4, 2013 in memory of U.S. Army Captain Aaron R. Blanchard, 32, of Selah, Washington, who died on April 23 in Pul-E-Alam, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered from enemy indirect fire. Captain Blanchard was assigned to the 2nd Aviation Battalion, 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.

Flags should remain at half-staff until sunset/close of business on Saturday, May 4 or first thing Monday morning, May 6.
