Influenza (the flu) is a disease that primarily affects people’s airways and lungs. It is caused by influenza viruses that easily spread from person to person in schools, workplaces, public environments, and homes. King County Public Health recommends that everyone over 6 months of age should get the annual flu vaccine to prevent sickness, unnecessary healthcare visits, hospitalizations, and deaths from influenza.
The seasonal flu vaccine is available at the NU Wellness Center.
