 Background

Blaine Charette is Professor of New Testament at Northwest University. He was educated in Canada (University of Calgary), the United States (Central Bible College; Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary), and England (University of Sheffield). He holds a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from the University of Sheffield. Dr. Charette has taught Biblical Studies for over twenty five years at Colleges and Universities in Canada and the United States. He has also served as a visiting lecturer at various educational institutions in Europe and Asia. As a Pentecostal scholar, Dr. Charette has worked with four different Pentecostal denominations and regularly participates in academic conferences focusing on Biblical and Pentecostal themes. He has published two books on Matthew’s Gospel as well as several academic articles on a variety of New Testament topics. For several years Charette served as the leader of the Biblical Studies Interest Group of the Society for Pentecostal Studies and from 2005-2006 as the President of the Society. Dr. Charette is the father of two sons (Blaeden and Eliot).
