Thor Tolo

Thor 004Greetings! It is such a blessing to serve Northwest University as our CAPS Business and Organizational Management Program Coordinator. As Assistant Professor of Business, I teach several Adult Evening classes along with traditional undergraduate and online courses.

My wife, Shelly, and I are owners of a nationally recognized event production company, so sharing experiences with students about entrepreneurship and other business disciplines will be a wonderful opportunity.

In 2012 I earned a Master’s Degree in Digital Media at the University of Washington while anchoring news on KOMO 1000. However, the challenge of teaching became irresistible during two years in the NU Communication wing where I was blessed to put 18 years of major market broadcast experience to effective use.

Before a four-year run as host of Salem Radio’s Live from Seattle (2004-’08), I anchored Emmy winning sportscasts for NBC owned-&-operated WKYC-TV in Cleveland, co-hosted one of America’s first sports-as-entertainment morning shows, and anchored the 68-station Minnesota Vikings Radio Network.

Following two years in Minneapolis, I was invited to host a daily call-in show for the world’s first radio station – KDKA. It was during those seven years in Pittsburgh that my 3-hour program was honored as Pennsylvania’s Best Talk Show.
