TEACHER-ART (HIGH SCHOOL)

High School Teacher; Art; 1.0 FTE beginning with the 2019/2020 school year
Grades; 9-12
Anticipated start date; August, 2019
**WA State Certificate with appropriate endorsement required.
The position of High School Visual Arts teacher is responsible for teaching fine art courses to students in Grades 9-12. Qualified applicant will have the following;
*Knowledge of the elements and principles of design, criticism and aesthetics.
*Knowledge of ceramics, sculpture, drawing, painting and art history.
*Organizational skills and comfort using a wide variety of art media, technology and approaches.
*Ability to integrate art concepts, artwork, art history, styles and aesthetics with classroom units, concepts and themes.

Mount Si High School is an Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) School. Applicant is expected to attend trainings and use AVID teaching strategies in the classroom. We will support all new teachers with a thorough understanding and preparation to effectively use the AVID strategies.
