Who is ISS?

International Student Services (ISS) is the department at Northwest University dedicated to supporting the international student body on campus.  ISS has a number of responsibilities, including:

  • Overseeing all F-1 international students and J-1 research scholars enrolled at Northwest University and the SEVIS database system
  • Manage the admissions process for CELE and undergraduate international students
  • Supporting graduate admissions for international students
  • Helping international students with arrival and their transition to the United States
  • Advising international students on F-1 and J-1 visa regulations, including employment, traveling, and day-to-day rules
  • Advocating for international students across the Northwest University campus
  • Developing programming for international students to support their cultural and social adjustment in the United States
  • Recruiting international students and representing Northwest University at local and overseas university fairs and recruiting trips
  • Cultivating relationships with agencies and foreign universities to strengthen ties with Northwest University and other institutions
  • Overseeing the international student health insurance for students

At the end of the day, our heart is to help our international students succeed at NU, inside and outside of the classroom.
