What is Jenzabar One?

We’re excited that Jenzabar One will go live at Northwest University on March 15th, 2027…but what is it? Keep reading for a brief overview of what this platform will mean for students and employees at NU!

Jenzabar One is the new student information system (SIS) and campus management platform that will be used across all colleges, departments, and offices to support the business of Northwest University.

Why are we changing?

Our current SIS is being discontinued at the end of 2026, prompting us to transition to a new one.

How will this affect me?

This will be a significant shift for everyone at NU! Look out for communications to various groups of employees and students as we make progress and transition to this new platform.

Students will use Jenzabar tools to keep track of their academic and enrollment information, financial information (University Accounts and financial aid), official communications, and more. Anything done today using our Self-Service Website will be handled within a new campus portal that will also include many tools currently available on the Eagle My Profile page.

Faculty and staff will use Jenzabar tools to advise students, keep track of their own University Accounts, and handle business and operational functions from accounting to communications to course management to student success to events to workflows, and more. Anything done today using the Self-Service Website, PowerCampus, and several other campus-based tools will be handled within a unified, modern platform that can be accessed easily and securely over the Internet. Colleges, departments, and offices will also be able to publish information to the NU community on the new campus portal, similar to how we currently use the Eagle Website.

When is Training?

The training schedule will be different, depending on your role. We will communicate training details with you as they become more concrete.

  • Student training will be in January and February 2027.
  • Staff training will begin in summer 2026.
  • Faculty training will be available in fall 2026, with an introduction in August 2026.

What does the word Jenzabar mean?

According to the company’s founder, “In Chinese, “Jenza” stands for the best and brightest; “bar” means a class. So, Jenzabar stands for the class of the best and brightest.”
