Spiritual Life Credit

Part of Northwest University’s alignment as an Assemblies of God University requires that we have a form of credit for chapel or spiritual life. The number of required credits (35) is equal to three chapels a week but can be attained in a variety of approved ways. Spiritual Life credit is not given for local church participation. This is because is engaging and forming their spiritual life within the Northwest community. Students can gain spiritual life credits through many ways: 

  • Chapel Gatherings: Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 10:10 AM to 11:10 AM Butterfield Chapel.
  • PursuitsMonday night at 8pm, in Butterfield Chapel.
  • Life groups: meets at various times. contact your life group leader.
  • Missions and extra opportunitiesvarious opportunities are offered and advertised by Campus Ministries.  
  • Bible reading plans. Bible reading plans via YouVersion that students are invited to journal through, then turn in completed journals to slattendance@northwestu.edu or the Campus Ministries office. 3 Spiritual Life Credits are available for the Bible Reading Plan. 
  • Chic Chat and Fella Ship: Sunday evening gatherings for women and men, respectively, are held once or twice a semester, as advertised by the Campus Ministries office.

Students can record their spiritual life credit by using the NU CONNECT app.

Spiritual life credit deduction: 

Students with certain situations may qualify for a further reduction in Spiritual Life credits. Students who qualify will need to fill out a Spiritual Life Credit Adjustment Request form, available from Campus Ministries.
