Driver License

You need 2 things in order to get your driver’s license:
1.  Required ID – You must bring identification as shown on this page.  You will usually need multiple forms of ID, but how many depends on your driving experience, where you are from, etc.
2.  Cash, check, or money order to pay the fees.

Tips for getting your license:

1.  DOL website: http://www.dol.wa.gov

2.  Go prepared—be sure to bring all required documents and enough money.  Understand what you need to do to get your driver license: http://www.dol.wa.gov/driverslicense/18over.html. The requirements are different depending on your age, driving experience, and license history. Also understand what ID you need to bring: http://www.dol.wa.gov/driverslicense/idproof.html.

3.  Go early—The DOL is famous for a long wait time. Check the DOL website for estimated wait times. If you go during the middle of the day, bring homework or something to do.
