Ovidiu Pop was born in Romania, where he completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music at Emanuel University in Oradea and began his career as a conductor and music teacher. At Emanuel University, Ovidiu Pop served as an assistant choir professor in collaboration with Dr. Nicolae Bica, one of Romania’s most esteemed choir conductor. From the very beginning, Ovidiu’s musical activity was intense, diverse, and took place at both national and international levels. He participated in numerous concerts including: the Oratorio Matthaus Passion by J.S. Bach in St. Petersburg, Russia, the Oratorio San Camillo de Lellis at the Rome Theater in Italy, and other festivals in Hungary, Italy, France, Austria, and England.  He settled in USA in 2016 and continued his work in the music field, becoming a well-known and passionate choir conductor, as well as a dedicated music teacher. As the music director of the First Romanian Pentecostal Church Seattle and a collaborating choir conductor for other churches, he has participated in numerous concerts, events, missions, national conferences (Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Arizona, Texas), and choir festivals, demonstrating an extraordinary ability to work with large choral ensembles and prepare young soloists to perform at high level. Throughout his years of activity, both in the US and Europe, Ovidiu has been able to adapt to the needs of those he has conducted, raising standards while adapting styles from classical to contemporary worship. As a voice instructor, Ovidiu emphasizes the implementation of correct singing technique, highlighting individual vocal characteristics, harmony and elegance of sound, as well as a good interpretation in any style. Ovidiu’s experience in composition (he has composed music for documentary films) and orchestration (he has made many soundtracks) makes him a musician capable of responding to different needs and adapting to various musical styles.
