Daily Crime Log

Northwest University is required by 34 CFR 668.46(f) to create, maintain and make available a daily crime log. The purpose of the daily crime log is to record criminal incidents and alleged criminal incidents that are reported to the campus security department.

Crime log entries include all crimes reported to the campus security department for the required geographic locations, not just Clery Act crimes. A crime is entered into the log within two business days of being reported to the security department. This includes crimes that are reported directly to the security department, as well as crimes that are initially reported to another campus security authority or to a local law enforcement agency who subsequently reports them to the campus security department. In addition to recording reported crimes that occurred on campus, in or on non-campus buildings or property or on public property within the campus or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus, reports of crimes that occurred within the patrol jurisdiction of the campus security department are also entered into the crime log.

Each Northwest University campus (Kirkland, Salem) maintains a crime log. This log is open to public inspection, upon request, during normal business hours.
