On-Campus Employment
All students on F-1 visas are eligible to work on campus. Students can work up to 20 hours per week while they are studying and full-time during the summer (end of the spring semester to the start of the fall semester).
Please go to the NU website to look at current openings for on-campus student employment or speak with a specific department regarding job opportunities. Students can work in staff positions, but they must maintain the same hourly requirements (part-time while studying).
After you have applied, HR will need to following documents:
- Job application (see the job above job websites)
- Resume
- Cover letter
- Class schedule
- Copy of your I-20
- Copy of your visa
- Copy of your most recent I-94
- Copy of passport
- Social security number. If you do not have an SSN, please look at the Social Security Number page or contact us and we can help you apply for an SSN. You need to have been approved to work before we can write you a letter to get an SSN.
