Transfer Tier System
← Back to Advising Information
Depending on the amount of transfer credit a student is awarded, they will be assigned a “tier” and may be able to replace some Core Curriculum requirements with electives:
| Tier | Credits | Adjustments |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 0-29 credits | None |
| 1 | 30-59 credits | Replace THEO 2063 and PSYC 1163 with electives |
| 2 | 60+ credits | Replace THEO 2063, PSYC 1163, Journey Deeper into Truth, and Professional Readiness with electives |
| 3 | DTA | Completes all Core Curriculum except BIBL 1053, THEO 1093, THEO 2293, and UNIV 1091 |
Students can only count as many credits towards their tier as they can count towards their degree; if they have enough or more elective credits than they need, they can’t count other transfer-eligible classes towards their tier. For example, if a student has 65 credits eligible for transfer, but they have maxed out their elective credits and only 55 can count towards their degree, then the student will be considered Tier 1, not Tier 2. Students who have eligible credits that did not transfer will have a statement on their Transfer Report that says, “Additional credits are available if needed.”
