Application Instructions

The application cycle opens in October and closes January 31, with the program beginning in August. Applications must be complete to be reviewed.
Before Starting the NursingCAS Application
- Apply to Northwest University. The Buntain School of Nursing will not review your application until you have been accepted by Northwest University.
- Applicants to the Buntain School of Nursing must apply through NursingCAS, the centralized application service for accredited nursing programs.
- Review the Prerequisites and Admission Criteria to ensure you meet the requirements.
- Consult with an academic advisor.
Follow the steps below to begin your NursingCAS application.
- Select Fall and the year you intend to start the nursing program from the drop down menu.
- Click the red APPLY button.
- Create an account.
- Select the Full Programs List tab.
- Locate Northwest University under the school drop-down box.
- Click on the blue + next to Northwest University.

Transcripts
All official transcripts must be sent to NursingCAS.
- See the NursingCAS Applicant Help Center for a brief overview and detailed instructions are available at “Sending Official Transcripts to NursingCAS“. Note: Official transcripts for all colleges and universities you have attended are required, regardless of academic status, degree, certificate, or completion factors.
- NursingCAS needs your NursingCAS ID number included with your transcripts. We recommend that NU students upload the NursingCAS Transcript ID Form to the NU National Student Clearing House Transcript Ordering Center. This will aid NursingCAS in matching up your transcript with your application.
