Applying for On-Campus Housing

Ready to apply for housing in the residence halls?

Are you under the age of 25 years old? Here’s how to apply for on-campus housing in the residence halls:

  1. Access the Campus Housing portal.
  2. Sign in with your NU email address and password.
    Example: firstname.lastname24@northwestu.edu / northwest000123456
  3. Under the black Applications drop-down menu, select the application that applies to you.
    • If you are a CELE/Exchange student, click on the CELE-EXCHANGE Student Application.
    • If you are an international student entering the traditional undergraduate program, click on the NEW Student Application.
  4. Read and sign the Agreement, then click “Continue.”
  5. Complete the application questions, then click “Continue.”
  6. Housing Placement Fee: All students are charged a fee to be assigned housing.
    • If you are entering the CELE program, you will be charged a $100 CELE housing placement fee at the beginning of the semester to your student account.
    • If you are entering the traditional undergraduate program, you will be prompted to pay a $150 housing placement fee with a debit or credit card at the end of your housing application. Your application will not be complete until you pay this fee.
  7. Class Registration: If you are entering the traditional undergraduate program, you must register for classes before you can receive a housing assignment!
  8. When you receive a housing assignment, you will receive a placement email from housing@northwestu.edu. You also can log in to My Housing (instructions above), and your housing assignment will be listed.
