Who is Eligible to Apply?

Any Northwest University student returning for the 2019-2020 academic year is eligible to apply if he/she meets the following criteria:

  • You must be committed to Christ and the mission of Northwest University.
  • You must have passed fall 2018 Spiritual Life Credit and continue to pass while in leadership. 
  • You must be in good standing the with university and comply with Community Life Standards.
  • You must be able to demonstrate the ability to succeed academically. A 2.50 GPA or greater is required.
    • If your cumulative GPA is less than 2.5 and you would like to be considered to apply, you will need to submit a Student Leadership Appeal along with your general Student Leadership Application by February 5th at 5pm.
    • Returning student leaders: if your cumulative GPA and/or your fall 2018 GPA is less than a 2.5, you must submit a Student Leadership Appeal along with your Returning Student Application by February 5th at 5pm.
  • It is preferred that you have completed at least one semester at Northwest University prior to applying.

How Are Leaders Selected?

Applicants must complete and submit an application (including any supplemental applications and references). Each applicant can schedule an individual interview with the department they are applying for.

For those applying to be in Residence Life, applicants will also need to participate in one of the group interview sessions.

Important Dates

  • Applications due: February 12th by 5:00pm
  • ASNU mandatory meeting: February 13th 
  • Res Life group interviews: February 19th and 20th
  • Interviews: February 18th – March 1st 
  • ASNU election chapel: February 20th 
  • Decision letters sent via email: March 14th
  • New hire spring leadership retreat: March 29th – 30th 

Application Checklist

  • Carefully read over the Job Descriptions for the position(s) for which you are applying.
  • Complete and submit an application (and supplemental applications for each area you are applying for) by February 12th at 5:00pm.
    • To fill out the application (or reference):
      1. 1. Download the document to your desktop.
      2. 2. Then fill out the document (fillable PDF using Adobe).
      3. 3. Save it on your desktop.
      4. 4. Email completed application (or reference) to Printed applications will not be accepted, they must be emailed.
  • Distribute reference forms and ask them to be submitted on or before February 12th at 5:00pm.
  • Sign up for an individual interview for each position for which you are applying. You will receive an email after the application deadline on how to do this. 
  • Sign up for a group interview session if you are applying for a Residence Life position.
  • Returning students do not need to distribute reference forms.
